Hello to all our Shel-Al friends!    After 51 seasons as a family-owned and operated campground, it is time for us to say goodbye!  Alison and I, and our entire family, want to thank all of you who have been so supportive throughout these many years!  We have truly loved getting to know you, your kids, even your pets!  We have shared in your joys, and have been saddened by your challenges.  You have been part of our lives since we were children, and, I imagine, we have been part of yours in some small way!  In 1964, our parents, Dot and Eddie, took a strawberry patch, with adjacent cow pasture, and began to create a place where you could enjoy an affordable vacation on the seacoast.  We have taken pride in continuing, and building upon, that tradition, and we hope we have given you many quietly simple days and nights to share with friends and family here at the campground.

We ask that you will warmly welcome the new owner, Joe, and his family!  They are as excited as Mom and Dad were when they first started their long, happy journey!  It works best, we think, as a family-affair, and Joe, his wife Cathy, and their children, Jessica and Jordan, are more than ready to take the reins.  Although this will be a new experience for them, they will bring an abundance of enthusiasm, energy, and emotion to the job, and we are confident that you will return this summer to a vibrant campground where you will continue to enjoy many summers.

We cannot leave without thanking our extended family who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the campground is a safe and happy place.  To Joe Nault, our manager, thank you for your countless hours making sure that everything runs smoothly.  Happy much-deserved Retirement!  And to Alan, Di, Lynsey, all of whom will be staying on, you are treasures to the campground…and to us!  Much luck in the coming summers!  To all the Shel-Al family over the many years, we could not have done it without you.  You were what made Shel-Al the spot so many love.  We will be forever thankful.

And finally, we thank our life-long friends at Wakeda Campground, Jan, Karen and Terry!  We have shared so many laughs over these past 51 years, and have worked so well together!  We will miss you and wish you continued success and happiness in the years to come!  We would also like to thank Theresa at Tidewater, as well as the many other local campgrounds who have worked tirelessly to provide visitors with summers filled with fun.  Good luck to all!

So this is it!   We wish you a life filled with blue skies, big waves, and Happy Camping!!!  THANK YOU, dear friends!
